In superior cervical ganglia neurons: decreased axonal growth rate and length; enhanced BMP-7-induced dendritic growth and increased dendritic length. No affect on AChE activity at doses producing these effects.

Subjects: Holtzmann rats

Chemical: Chlorpyrifos

Low doses tested: 0.0001 to 10 μM

Route of administration: dissolved in DMSO and delivered in vitro

Exposure duration: gestational day 20 – post-natal day 1 (comparable to human prenatal development from approximately day 1 of week 13 to day 1 of week 21)

Age of measurement: in vitro after 24 or 72 hours in treatment culture
